Britain Released A Huge Budget to Support the Steel Industry
Britain released a huge infrastructure budget to support the steel industry.
According to the government's 2020 budget document released on March 11th, Britain will invest a total of £640bn in infrastructure and construction projects between 2024 and 2025. This is the biggest investment in infrastructure in the UK since 1955.
The new budget will be benefited from British steel producers such as Liberty Steel and British Steel, especially as the government has pledged to prioritize the procurement of steel produced in the UK.
Britain's government has also awarded £1.26m to the Universities of Leeds and Sheffield to help the British steel industry achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
